Concussion Spot Certification Pathway

Focused Clinical Certifications in Concussion, Headache, and Vestibular Rehabilitation

The Concussion Spot Certification Pathway is designed for healthcare professionals who want practical, evidence-informed training in concussion, headache, and vestibular rehabilitation.

These certifications are built to help clinicians improve clinical reasoning, organize complex patient presentations, and demonstrate focused training in specialty areas that are commonly seen in rehabilitation practice but often underrepresented in traditional certification pathways.

The first available certification is:

  • CS-CRP (Concussion Spot Certified Concussion Rehabilitation Provider)

    • The CS-CRP credential is earned through the completion of our Phase 1 Concussion Rehabilitation Course titled Comprehensive Concussion Rehabilitation: Evaluation and Treatment, and successfully passing the 77-question course exam.

Future certification tracks are planned in advanced concussion rehabilitation, headache rehabilitation, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Why This Certification Pathway Was Created

Concussion Spot began with concussion care.

Clinically, I saw that concussion rehabilitation often lives at the bridge between neurological and orthopedic care. Many patients were receiving care through only one lens.

Some patients were treated primarily from a neurological perspective, but their cervical spine or musculoskeletal contributors continued to persist. Others were treated primarily from an orthopedic perspective, but the neurological, vestibular, ocular, and sensory components of their recovery were not fully addressed.

The result was that many patients either did not fully improve or their recovery was far less efficient than it could have been.

Concussion Spot was created to bring these clinical worlds together.

The goal is to help clinicians develop a more complete framework for evaluating and treating concussion by integrating the neurological, orthopedic, vestibular, ocular, headache, cervical, exertion, and functional pieces of recovery.

As my own clinical learning expanded through vestibular rehabilitation, optometry, orofacial & TMD pain, headache management, and related specialty areas, one thing became clear:

Concussion, headache, and vestibular dysfunction are deeply connected.

These conditions often overlap, influence each other, and require a more integrated approach than any single specialty lens can provide.

The Concussion Spot Certification Pathway was built to help clinicians see the whole picture — not just one piece of it — so they can reason more clearly, treat more effectively, and help patients move through recovery with a better plan.

Certification Tracks

The Concussion Spot Certification Pathway includes three core clinical tracks:

  1. Concussion Rehabilitation

  2. Headache Rehabilitation

  3. Vestibular Rehabilitation

Each certification track is designed to stand on its own while also complementing the others.

Clinicians may choose the track that best fits their practice, or progress through multiple tracks to build broader expertise in concussion, headache, dizziness, and complex symptom management.

Concussion Certification Track

The CS-CRP credential is the foundational concussion rehabilitation certification offered through Concussion Spot Education. This certification is designed for healthcare professionals who want to improve their ability to evaluate, classify, and treat individuals with concussion and mild traumatic brain injury using a structured clinical reasoning process.

Headache Certification Track

The CS-HRP credential will be the foundational headache rehabilitation certification offered through Concussion Spot Education. This future certification track is being developed for healthcare professionals who want a stronger clinical framework for evaluating and managing headache presentations commonly seen in rehabilitation practice. Headache symptoms are frequently seen in patients with concussion, neck pain, and persistent post-traumatic symptoms, but also in non-traumatic presentations. Such as tension-type headaches, cervicogenic Headaches, migraine Headaches, etc. This certification pathway will help clinicians better understand how headache presentations overlap with cervical, vestibular, ocular, neurological, orofacial, lifestyle, and concussion-related factors. The goal of this track is to help clinicians better understand the role of rehabilitation in headache care and integrate reasoning into broader multidisciplinary healthcare.

Vestibular Certification Track

The CS-VRP credential will be the foundational vestibular rehabilitation certification offered through Concussion Spot Education. This future certification track is being developed for healthcare professionals who want focused training in dizziness, balance, and vestibular rehabilitation. Vestibular dysfunction is commonly involved in concussion, persistent dizziness, visual motion sensitivity, balance dysfunction, and return-to-activity limitations. This certification pathway will help clinicians build a more structured approach to evaluating and treating dizziness-related presentations. The goal of this track is to help clinicians build a practical framework for evaluating and treating vestibular-related presentations across populations.
