Climbing Sports Concussion Return To Play Protocol

$0.00

The Climbing Concussion Protocol is a structured, stepwise approach to managing concussions in climbers. It begins with the immediate removal from climbing activities if a concussion is suspected, followed by a medical evaluation to confirm the diagnosis and assess severity.

Once diagnosed, the climber follows a gradual return-to-activity plan. This step-by-step progression starts with rest, then moves to light activity, basic climbing movements, and eventually a full return to climbing. Each stage requires the climber to be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before advancing. If symptoms return, the individual must step back to the previous phase.

This approach minimizes the risk of re-injury and supports a full recovery. By emphasizing gradual progression and monitoring, the protocol helps climbers return safely and confidently to their sport while protecting long-term brain health.
