Vestibular First was started of necessity when Dr. Helen Esmonde moved from a hospital-based outpatient facility to a small privately owned therapy clinic where they were not able to afford the expensive but vital diagnostic Infrared goggles that she used daily to treat her vestibular patients. This pushed Helen to build her own. This initial struggle paved the way for success, leading to the development of the FDA-approved Insight Infrared Video Goggles. From a prototype in 2017 to today's innovative device, Vestibular First continues to provide high-quality, cost-effective equipment to clinicians worldwide, positively impacting the vestibular community.

Why are Video Infrared Goggles Important?

Video infrared goggles provide objective data about eye movements, allowing clinicians to assess vestibular function more accurately. These goggles can detect subtle abnormalities in eye movements that may indicate vestibular dysfunction, helping clinicians diagnose and accurately treat conditions such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuritis, and Meniere's disease. The objective accuracy that is provided with the use of Video Infrared Goggles can be a game changer. Read my article HERE on the role of BPPV in concussion recovery and learn how undiagnosed BPPV can significantly prolong your concussion recovery.

Vestibular First stands at the forefront of vestibular rehabilitation, offering high-quality and cost-effective vestibular equipment to transform your clinic and patient care experiences. With a mission to empower individuals with vestibular disorders to regain their balance and quality of life, Vestibular First embodies excellence, compassion, and innovation.

In conclusion, Vestibular First and its founders, Dr. Helena Esmonde and Patrick Esmonde, exemplify the transformative power of compassion, expertise, and innovation in vestibular rehabilitation. Their unwavering commitment to empowering clinicians and educating healthcare professionals inspires hope and healing in communities worldwide. As we continue the journey toward optimal balance and well-being, we can find solace and support in the exceptional care provided by Vestibular First and the visionary leadership of Dr. Helena Esmonde and Patrick Esmonde.
